It has been decided in the cabinet meeting that the Roosevelt Hotel New York will be opened partially in the first phase and then the hotel will be fully renovated.
In the Cabinet meeting, it was decided that the Roosevelt Hotel would not be privatized. It has been decided to start immediate negotiations with the Hotel Union to open the Roosevelt Hotel. In this regard, the Mayor of New York City will also be contacted.
According to Saad Rafiq, the government has decided that Roosevelt will not be privatized, but due to its prime location, a large building will be constructed at this location with the help of a joint venture, which will benefit Pakistan more. This joint venture will not necessarily mean that Roosevelt is being privatized.
In response to a question, Saad Rafiq said that Pakistan has decided to temporarily give its slots at British airports to Turkish Airlines and Saudi Airlines so that these slots are not cancelled. He said that as soon as it is possible to resume the flights of Pakistani airlines to the UK, Pakistan will withdraw its slots at British airports.
